This design has crafted by me (Aimee). Punga Punga Island as you can probably tell is one of the main symbols that I relate back to my home town.


The centre piece of my design had to be Punga Punga Island, or "Snail Rock", as we used to refer to it as kids. My brothers and I would paddle out to the "Island" and jump off the back of the rocks. Whangapoua speaks for itself so I have clipped a coastal photograph inside the "Island" to create a unique frame.

Whangapoua will always be home for me — it’s where I grew up, a truly magical place nestled close to the calm of the ocean. This piece is my way of sharing that feeling of peace, belonging, and coastal connection with you.

  • Wash inside-out in cold or warm water
  • Avoid harsh detergents or bleach
  • Hang dry or tumble dry low heat
  • Avoid ironing directly on the print (if you are wanting to iron the garment ensure you use a heat resistant covering such as a teflon sheet)
