FAQ

General Questions:

What is DTF printing?

DTF stands for Direct-to-Film printing. It’s a process where your design is printed onto a special film using vibrant inks, then transferred to fabric using a heat press. The result? Durable, full-colour prints that work on a wide range of materials – with no weeding or cutting required.

What’s the difference between DTF and heat transfer vinyl (HTV)?

HTV uses solid coloured vinyl that’s cut into shapes or letters, while DTF allows for detailed, full-colour images and gradients. DTF is perfect for intricate or multi-colour designs, and it has a soft feel with long-lasting durability.

What types of items can you print on?

We can print on tees, sweatshirts, hoodies, hats, canvas, card, and more. If it can handle the heat press, we can likely print on it!

Do you supply the garments or do I provide my own?

You’re welcome to do either! You can supply your own clean, new garments, or choose from our curated range of high-quality apparel from trusted suppliers.

Do you use AS Colour or other brands?

Yes – we love AS Colour for their quality, ethical sourcing, and perfect blanks for printing. We also offer other options depending on your budget or style preferences.

Yes, when possible! Message us directly to check availability for your timeline.

Transfers Only:

Yes – we offer DTF transfers ready to press. Perfect if you’ve got your own heat press setup at home or in your business. Send a message with your requirements and we can organise a quote.

How do I apply the transfers at home?

We’ll include easy-to-follow instructions with your order. It’s as simple as heat press, peel, and go!

What settings should I use for pressing?

Typically, we recommend:

Temperature: 140–160°C

Time: 10–15 seconds

Pressure: Medium to firm

Instructions may vary depending on your press – always test first if you’re unsure.

Care & Aftercare:

How do I wash and care for printed items?

Wash inside-out in cold or warm water

Avoid harsh detergents or bleach

Hang dry or tumble dry low

Avoid ironing directly on the print

Will the design crack or peel over time?

When properly cared for, DTF prints remain vibrant and flexible. They won’t crack or peel like older print methods might.
